Hospital - 10/11 Jan

So up till now we had been enjoying eating samosas and dal fry on the streets. Truck stops had become our regular lunch time haunt, but that all changed when a few team members got sick… Kate had already been sick for two days but she was soon joined by Chris, Brad and Amy who were vomiting all through the night at Jabalpur. That resulted in a morning visit to Jamdur Private Hospital (also known as Trivendi Heart Insitute – renowned in the area supposedly). While Chris got off lightly, Kate, Brad and Amy were swiftly put on beds with IV drips inserted in their arms.

Brad spent a good day in the Intesive Care Unit and even witnessed the person next to him die! Kate and Amy meanwhile were in the cardiac heart ward and were forced to spent the night at the hospital. The doctors never really told us what was wrong, but we think it was either bacteria dysentry, gastro or an intestinal infection. Not a good night, but a funny night in hindsight. The hospital director even visited us and clearly told us NO street food. Yes madam. We discharged around 3 pm after an epic 30 hour hospital stay.

Matthew and Andrew had a nice 14hr waiting room stay on the 10th. There were some perks and a lot of running to the drug store when people needed medicines. Tall tales can be heard by putting a gold keyring medallion into Matthews parka hood!
